One of my favourite cities to road trip to is of course New York City, aka the Big Apple! I don’t mind the long drive, its driving right into Manhattan that scares me! I get anxious when all I see are yellow cabs cutting me off and nearly hitting me! A majority of the time I enter the city not knowing where I’m going and drive in circles. Oh and you definitely haven’t parallel parked if you haven’t tried in NYC, it’s like trying to fit a car into space big enough for a scooter..not easy! The parking is what killed me this time, I have to admit I got stuck and had to have a group of randoms direct me into a parking spot. Can you say spot the tourist?
Walking is one of my favourite things to do in the city and I sure did plenty of it. I think this was the farthest I have ever walked, all the way from the Brooklyn Bridge to Madison and Fifth Avenue! For those of you who don’t know the city well its about 40 blocks (thankful for comfy shoes). That may sound like a lot but being able to walk wherever is amazing! The numbered streets make it seem like nothing when you walk 50 blocks. Or is that just me?! I feel like walking everywhere gives me the chance to absorb and embrace everything the beautiful city has to offer. If you aren’t as avid a walker as I am, the subway is an interesting way to get to your destination, and you can feel like a true New Yorker!
I did adventure with Ray Ray of @modernglobetrotters and this visit in the city we were there mostly for business. So sadly, we didn’t get to the good stuff (aka shopping), BUT we were able to focus on work and get some amazing content for social media. Shopping is of course a big deal in NYC, but we have visited the city enough times we could skip out on it this one time. We will be back shortly anyways I am sure, so that will be our time to go on a wild shopping spree!
Please feel free to give our blog post about the hotel we stayed at a read! And if you haven’t read it yet and are travelling to the city, use the code: STREETSTYLEVIBE for a 20% off discount during your stay.
